NEWARK, Del. - The Delaware women's swimming and diving team closed out the regular season at home, setting several personal records in Rawstrom Natatorium.Â
"We had a great racing day today," said head coach Pablo Marmolejo. "It was a very good prep for our CAA team and a great meet for our kids who finished their season today. We were short of three school records today with still 12 days to go until the Championships. Definitely, a good spot to be in at this point. Looking forward to the next few days."
On the 1-meter board, Rowan O'Sullivan secured a season-best score of 272.03 qualifying for NCAA Zones. Ella Drazek (255.45) placed third, Mauri Leroux (238.95) placed fifth and Jordan Campbell (237.75) placed sixth, with each Blue Hen recording a season-best score.Â
Drazek also earned a third-place finish in 3-meter diving with a season-best score of 257.63. Leroux had a season-best score of 229.80 on the 3-meter board, placing seventh.Â
In the 100 Fly, Mira Selling set a personal record of 54.56, just five-hundredths of a second shy of a program record. She also set a personal record in the 100 Free (49.58) and was just one-hundredth of a second shy of a personal record in the 50 Free (23.28).Â
Jordynn Park set personal records in three events. She swam her best times in the 100 Breast (1:11.05), 100 Fly (1:04.80) and the 50 Free (25.88).
Charlise Oberholzer (1:00.83) and Kayla Borrero (59.51) each set personal bests in the 100 Fly, while Natalie Dobrzykowski set a personal best in the 100 Back (58.04). Freshman Anthi Lyra swam a personal best 23.88 in the 50 Free.
The Blue Hens now look toward the 2022 CAA Swimming and Diving Championships in Christiansburg, Va., from Feb. 16-19.Â
