Honrubia, Montana Named CAA Doubles Team of the Week

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women's tennis duo of Julieta Honrubia and Isabella Montana have been named the CAA Women's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday. The award recognizes their efforts during UD's two matches last week.
Honrubia and Montana recorded a 2-0 mark at No. 3 doubles to help Delaware earn the doubles point in both matches last week. The Blue Hens' duo blanked William & Mary's Emma Fernald and Ine Stange, 6-0, to help UD take an early lead in a narrow 4-3 setback to the Tribe. They clinched the doubles point in a 6-1 team triumph over NJIT, beating Advaita Saravanan and Shalom Salvi, 6-2, as Delaware avenged a loss to NJIT from earlier in the season.
This is the second conference weekly honor for both Honrubia and Montana, and the fifth of the season for the Blue & Gold. Honrubia, along with then-doubles partner Eliza Askarova, was previously named the CAA Doubles Team of the Week back on February 2 while Montana earned Player of the Week honors on February 23.
The Blue Hens will take on Morgan State on Tuesday afternoon at the Delaware Tennis Courts with first serve scheduled for 2 p.m.
