Jenkins Adds Three to 2022-23 Roster

NEWARK, Del. - Delaware women's basketball head coach Sarah Jenkins has announced the addition of transfers Kharis Idom and Klarke Sconiers, and incoming freshman Nakiyah Mays-Prince for the 2022-23 season.Â
"I am very excited to have these three young ladies join our program," said Jenkins. "They are relentless competitors and I believe they will help us sustain the championship culture that has been established. Both Kharis and Klarke bring us high-level Division I on-court experience that will help elevate our program immediately."
Kharis Idom, Guard, Orlando, Fla., Colonial HS/UMass LowellÂ
Idom arrives in Newark as a grad transfer after graduating cum laude from UMass Lowell. A three-year starter, three-year captain, and two-time All-America East Second Team selection, Idom played in 106 games and made 77 starts (the 2nd highest in UML history). She finished her career with an average of 9.8 ppg the second-most in school history, as she became just the second player ever to join the 1,000-Point Club. Idom's averages of 2.0 apg and 1.3 spg rank the highest in UMass Lowell history. She posted career highs of 25 points and 11 rebounds. Idom was a four-sport athlete at Colonial High School competing in cross country, basketball, track, and lacrosse. The two-time captain was named First-Team All-Metro and First-Team All-Central Florida as a junior and senior. Idom's talents earned her Colonial High School Female Athlete of the Year as a senior and Metro Player of the Year as a junior. She's the daughter of Ashley Felton.
Klarke Sconiers, Center, Queens, NY, Christ the King/Minnesota
Sconiers transfers to Delaware from the University of Minnesota. The center appeared in 49 games across three seasons, including being the only player on the Gophers roster to play in every game her sophomore season. An Academic All-Big Ten recipient, Sconiers recorded career-highs of 14 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocked shots while at Minnesota. A three-star recruit and the No. 18 post player, according to ESPN at Christ the King, Sconiers was named first-team all-state as a senior as she helped lead her team to a state title by averaging 11.7 pts. and 12.2 rebounds per game. She was a three-time second-team all-league honoree and helped her team to a 29-1 record and league championship as a junior, as she averaged 9.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 5.0 blocks, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game as her team finished ranked seventh in the country in the USA Today National Super 25 Girls' Rankings. She's the daughter of Solomon and Jodi Sconiers.
Nakiyah Mays-Prince, Guard, Chicago, Ill., Example Academy
Mays-Prince will make her collegiate debut with the Blue Hens this winter. The guard will wear the blue and gold after competing for Morgan Park and Example Academy in Chicago, Ill. while playing basketball all four years of high school. She was the starting point guard for Morgan Park, averaging 14 points per game her junior year. A starting point guard for Example in her senior season, Mays-Prince helped lead their National Team to an Independent School National Championship title. Mays-Prince played AAU and competed for the Lady Reign from 2017 to 2020. She's the daughter of Zachary Prince and Lalita Mays.
