Women's Soccer Drops Conference Contest Against Hofstra

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – The University of Delaware women's soccer program dropped a Costal Athletic Association game against Hofstra by a score of 1-0 on Sunday.
With the loss, the Blue Hens overall record drops to 4-5-7 overall and 1-3-6 in conference play. With two games to go, the Blue Hens are six points out of a conference tournament spot. The CAA Tournament starts on Oct. 26

HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- The Blue Hens had four shots, including three shots on goal.
- Two of the four shots came from Lea Panagiotidis while Julianna Bell and Izzy Lane each had a shot.
- Kyla Burns started and played all 90 minutes of Sunday's contest. She racked up three saves and allowed one goal.
- The Blue Hens had a chance to get an early lead with a shot from Panagiotidis in the third minute. However, her shot was saved by the Pride goalkeeper.
- The go-ahead goal was scored in the 49th minute of the second half.
- Sunday's contest was the 32nd meeting between the Pride and the Blue Hens. Hofstra now leads the series 23-7-2.
- Sunday's contest was the first ever matchup between Delaware and Campbell.
- The Blue Hens close out the regular season with two games at Grant Stadium, starting on Thursday, Oct. 19 against Hampton at 7 p.m. The regular season finale is on Sunday, Oct. 22 against UNCW at 1 p.m.
