Malirz, Lock, & Mackenzie Lead Men’s Tennis at ITA Atlantic Regional Championships

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The University of Delaware men's tennis team tallied impressive results at the ITA Atlantic Regional Championships this past weekend, headlined by Karol Malirz advancing to the second round of the gold draw after starting in silver, and Tobey Lock and Euan Mackenzie advancing to the gold draw quarterfinals.

ON THE RECORD
"What a week it has been for the Blue Hens!" Head Men's Tennis Coach Marc Pibernat said. "We are the team that definitely made the biggest impact with the presence we made on every draw. Despite being an individual tournament, we grew so much as a team spending the week together and supporting each other on every match. This team is getting exponentially better and yet again the bar was raised much higher than when we arrived to Liberty last Tuesday."

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

Malirz won three matches in the silver draw to advance to the gold draw. He would finish the event with four-straight wins before falling in the second round of the gold draw.
Lock and Mackenzie picked up two victories before falling in the quarterfinals in the gold draw.
Javier Ruiz won his first three in the bronze draw to advance to silver where he picked up a pair of victories.
Ids Waterbolk notched a pair of wins in the bronze draw.
