Three Women's Soccer Athletes Receive All-Conference Honors

RICHMOND, Va. – Three athletes on the University of Delaware women's soccer team received Costal Athletic Association All-Conference honors, the league announced on Wednesday.
Goalkeeper Kyla Burns and Defender Constanze Viehmann headline the group, both of whom earned third team All-CAA honors. In addition, Willa Pratt makes an appearance on the All-Rookie team.
Burns had a huge impact in net, and was one of the best goalkeepers in the entire country. The senior from Ruby, N.Y. appeared in 16 contests and made nine starts. In her nearly 1000 minutes played in net, she had a .911 save percentage, which currently leads the country, and ranks second in program history for save percentage in a season. She allowed only five goals, and had a 0.46 goals against average, both of which rank first in the CAA. She was a part of five of the Blue Hens six shutouts on the season, three of which were solo shutouts, while two were a combined shutout.
Viehmann earns her first all-conference accolades of her career. The sophomore from Landenburg, Germany appeared and started in all 18 games for the Blue Hens. She led the Blue Hens in minutes played at 1505. Viehmann played in all 90 minutes in 11 of their 18 games this season. She played a big role on the defensive end for the Blue Hens, a defense that allowed 0.72 goals per game, which ranks second in the conference and 41st in the NCAA. Offensively, she finished tied for third in goals scored with two. She scored her first career goal against La Salle back on Aug. 24, which led to a 2-1 victory, as well as a goal against Stony Brook back on Sept. 14, leading to a 2-2 tie.
Rounding out the accolades for the Blue Hens is Pratt. She is the fourth Blue Hen on the roster to receive All-Rookie team honors, joining Izzy Lane, Odaliana Gomez, who earned the honor in 2022, and Sydni Wright, who earned the honor in 2021. The midfielder from Sauquoit, N.Y. played a big role for the Blue Hens squad as a freshman, appearing in all 18 games, and making four starts. In 579 minutes played, she scored one goal and added one assist. Her goal against La Salle ended up being the game winning goal. She also earned an assist in a 9-1 win against Hampton, which led to tying the program record for goals in a game.
