Delaware to Continue Partnership with DIAA, Will Host Football, Field Hockey, and Volleyball Championships

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware Department of Athletics, Community, and Campus Recreation is pleased to announce the continued partnership with the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA), the groups announced Thursday. UD will host the championships for football, field hockey, and volleyball this fall.
"Continuing our partnership with the DIAA is very important," Director of Athletics, Community, and Campus recreation Chrissi Rawak said. Being a part of providing memorable experiences to Delawareans at the University of Delaware is a privilege to be able to do. We are committed to showcasing the incredible talent in the 302 through these exciting championships."
Delaware Stadium will host all four football championships on Thursday, November 30 and Friday, December 1. The games needed to be moved from their traditional Saturday/Sunday dates due to the realignment of DIAA football divisions, potential FCS Playoff games for Delaware football, and events scheduled in the Bob Carpenter Center in early December. Game times for the high school championships will be announced soon.
"We are excited to be able to continue our partnership with the University of Delaware and the Athletic Department," DIAA Executive Director David Baylor said. "The University's venues provide our high school student-athletes, their schools, parents, and loved ones with a true championship environment and experience."
Fred Rullo Stadium will host the semifinals and finals of the field hockey championships. Division I will start on Thursday, November 7 at 5:00 p.m. and Division II on Wednesday, November 8 at 5:00 p.m. Both finals will take place on Saturday, November 11 starting at noon with the Division I game, followed by the Division II game.
Volleyball semifinals and finals will be held at the Bob Carpenter Center starting Monday, November 13 at 6:00 p.m. The finals will be played on Wednesday, November 16 at 6:30 p.m.
