Men's Swimming & Diving Earns Third Place Finish at West Virginia Invitational

MORGANTOWN, W. VA. – The Delaware men's swimming & diving team placed third overall out of 10 teams on the third and final day of the West Virginia Invitational on Saturday.
The Blue Hens earned 947 points through the three-day Invitational. They finished ahead of Coastal Athletic Association foes Drexel (fourth place) and William & Mary (sixth place) and finished ahead of Villanova and Penn State.
Navy was the top team, finishing in first place with 2155 points.

RESULTS
- Gavin Currie (1:44.16) and Kaloyan Levterov (1:44.64) earned second and third place in the 200 backstroke. Currie's time earned himself an NCAA B Cut. He is the second athlete this weekend, along with Toni Sabev, to earn an NCAA B Cut this weekend.
- Matvei Namakonov was 10th in the 100 freestyle (45.09 seconds).
- Jack Hattery was third in the 200 butterfly (1:47.84).
- Delaware's 400 freestyle relay team of Miguel Vasquez, Addison Collins, Luke Rautzhan, and Namakonov finished fifth with a time of 3:01.18. A second team of Levterov, Andrew Taylor, Currie and Sabev finished in seventh at 3:01.76.
- The Blue Hens return to the Harry W. Rawstorm Natatorium in the Carpenter Sports Building for a dual meet against West Chester on Friday, Dec. 1 at 5 p.m.
