NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware Department of Athletics, Community, and Campus Recreation is pleased to announce an expanded business partnership with Bloom Energy, the department announced Friday.
"I'm excited to continue our partnership with our neighbor, Bloom Energy," Director of Athletics, Community, and Campus Recreation Chrissi Rawak said. "The alignment of our values and the commitment we both have to our community makes our partnership with Bloom Energy incredibly special. I am grateful for their support and excited about our continued partnership."
This is the second year the company has sponsored the military appreciation football game, which coincides with Bloom Energy's own Stars and Strides Delaware Charitable 5K race. The 5k is held on Veteran's Day, November 11, at the STAR Campus. This year, the annual fundraising event benefits Stop Soldier Suicide and the Delaware National Guard Youth Foundation, two charities devoted to military and veterans' issues in Delaware.
"We're proud to be part of the Delaware community, and the UD team," Bloom Energy Vice President of Manufacturing Barry Sharpe said. "We are excited to once again sponsor the Blue Hens' Military Appreciation Games, recognizing the contributions of all active duty, reserves, and veteran military personnel across the state and country."
