Henkel Hands Women's Golf Sudden-Death Victory at Navy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Needing sudden death to decide the match results, Delaware women's golfer Lilia Henkel stepped up and delivered a match victory for the Hens over Navy in Annapolis.

Playing on the par-72, 6085-yard US Naval Academy course, Alisa Khokhlova was victorious over Navy's Mara Hirtle, 3 & 2, while Navy's Sue Lee delivered a victory over Lexi Dart.

Stephanie Lee gave the Midshipmen a 2-1 lead with a 3 & 1 win over Oihana Etxezarreta. Christina Carroll knotted up the score after defeating Bridget Hoang.

Delaware jumped back in front when Henkel took down Hallie Brisco in a 5 & 3 round, but the Midshipmen once again tied the score as Eve Worden defeated Anna Kittelson (one-up).

Henkel was sent out to be the playoff golfer against Worden, emerging as the winner and sealing a 4-3 win for the Hens.

This was Delaware's first individual team matchup since it defeated Princeton on April 7, 2019.

Delaware's next action will begin on April 2 at the Brickyard Intercollegiate.
