Swimming & Diving Lands Seven On CSC Academic All-District Team

NEWARK, Del. - Evan Ciecko, Gavin Currie, Simeon Sabev, Natalie Dobrzykowski, Cristin Earley, Peyton Rautzhan, and Kaitlyn Sullivan of Delaware's men's and women's swimming & diving programs were named to the 2023 Academic All-District Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC). This honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. All seven student-athletes selected have a GPA of 4.0.

Ciecko, a junior from Wilmington Del., is an exercise science major. He has competed in seven meets for Delaware this season, primarily in freestyle events.

Currie is a sophomore business analytics and finance major. Currie has won gold medals at the CAA Championships in the 200 back, (2022, 2023), 200 medley relay, and 400 medley relay, while also earning second and third-place finishes in the 100 back, 500 free, 800 free relay this past season. He also currently holds the CAA, CAA Championship Meet, and Delaware program record in the 200 back, along with program records in the 100 back, 200m medley relay, and 400 medley relay.

Sabev is a junior majoring in mathematics and economics. He is a CAA Champion in the 200 and 400 medley relays, and a five-time All-CAA honoree. He also currently holds the all-time CAA, CAA Championship Meet, and program records in the 200 and 400 medley relays.

Dobrzykowski is a senior health behavior science major. Dobrzykowski earned two gold medals at this year's CAA Championships, setting the all-time CAA, CAA Championship Meet, and program record in the 400 free relay and setting the program record 800 free relay. She is a four-time All-CAA honoree.

Earley is a sophomore exercise science major. She earned 400-medley relay All-CAA honors a season ago, and competed in 11 meets this season.

Rautzhan is a sophomore majoring in international business. She competed in 10 meets this season, finishing in the top five five times in individual events.

Sullivan, a sophomore chemical engineering major, competed in 10 meets this season, finishing in the top five in individual events eight times.
