Nerpin Named Rookie of the Year, Ariyachatvakin Placed on All-CAA Second Team

RICHMOND, Va. – Men's golf received two postseason awards, as Casper Nerpin was named CAA Rookie of the Year and Sparky Ariyachatvakin was named to the All-CAA Second Team, the league announced on Thursday.

Nerpin had a freshman season to remember for the Blue Hens, finishing the season with an average round of 72.63, including three top-ten finishes in ten events competed.

His top performance came at the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate, finishing tied for fifth overall with a total score of 214.

Nerpin was named CAA Golfer of the Week twice, doing so on Sept. 7 and Mar. 15.

Ariyachatvakin boosted an already-solid resume by being named to the All-CAA Second Team. He narrowly edged Nerpin for the best average round of 72.37, which also included three top-ten finishes on the season.

Ariyachatvakin had an impressive tournament at the Golfweek/AGT Intercollegiate, finishing tied for third among 96 golfers, firing three rounds below par.

Nerpin becomes the first Blue Hen in program history to win CAA Rookie of the Year.
