Kost Named to The Bluebloods Preseason All-American Team

NEWARK, Del. - Incoming transfer punter Ryan Kost has been named to The Bluebloods 2023 FCS Preseason All-American Team, the organization announced Wednesday.
Kost arrives to Delaware as a graduate student from Monmouth. He was a First Team All-CAA Punter in 2022, while also being named Phil Steele/DraftScout FCS Postseason All-America Second-Team Punter and All-ECAC Special Teams Punter. Kost also received HERO Sports FCS Preseason All-America Third Team, STATS Perform Preseason All-America Third Team, and CAA Preseason All-Conference Honorable Mention recognition. He averaged 48.1 yards per punt to lead the CAA and FCS. and had 12 punts of at least yards. He had a career-long 71-yard punt against Rhode Island on Oct. 22.Â
He earned First Team All-Big South honors in 2021, along with being named First Team All-ECAC and was a Preseason All-Big South Honorable Mention. He averaged 44.3 yards per punt to lead the Big South and ranked eighth in the nation. During the 2020-2021 season, he was a Second Team All-Big South selection.
From Newton, Conn., Kost played quarterback, kicked and punted at Newtown High School and served as a team captain. He earned honorable mention all-conference honors and was a Walter Camp All-Connecticut First Team selection in 2017.
The Blue & Gold will open the 2023 season on Thursday, August 31 at Stony Brook. Tickets for the 2023 football season are on sale now and can be purchased HERE.
