Football Rises to No. 19/16 Ahead of Big CAA Matchup

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware football moved up a few spots in each national poll ahead of a big CAA showdown on Saturday. The Blue Hens jumped to No. 16 in the AFCA Coaches Poll while moving back into the top 20 at No. 19 in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25.
Playing in front of 16,332 fans in the home opener at Delaware Stadium, the Blue & Gold pulled away for the 42-14 win over Saint Francis on Saturday behind six-straight touchdowns. Marcus Yarns led the way with a career-high 139 rushing yards and two total touchdowns, while Ryan O'Connor passed for 192 yards and three scores.
Dillon Trainer returned an interception 56 yards for UD's second defensive touchdown of the season. KT Seay was named the CAA Rookie of the Week after leading the Blue Hens with seven tackles and his recording first career interception. He picked off a pass in the end zone during the second quarter when it was still a one-score game.

Delaware will continue its four-game homestand on Saturday when it hosts New Hampshire for a CAA matchup at Delaware Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. and tickets are still available.
