Football Rises to No. 19 in National Polls

NEWARK, Del. – Following its convincing 37-13 season-opening victory at Stony Brook last Thursday, the University of Delaware football team slid up a couple of spots in each of the national FCS rankings. The Blue Hens now sit at No. 19 in both the AFCA Coaches Poll and the Stats Perform FCS Top 25.
The Blue & Gold won its fourth-straight season opener, moving to 1-0 in the CAA with its victory over the Seawolves. Ryan O'Connor set career highs with 24 completions and 346 yards passing while connecting with nine different receivers. Marcus Yarns recorded his first career 100-yard game, leading the rushing attack with 107 yards on 11 carries with two scores. UD's defense had three interceptions in the second half and Ty Davis returned his 50 yards for a touchdown.
UP NEXT
Delaware will head back out on the road this weekend for a matchup at FBS opponent Penn State. Kickoff in Happy Valley is scheduled for noon on Saturday and the game will be streamed on Peacock.
