CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – University of Delaware field hockey ended its season Friday in the NCAA Tournament against reigning national champion and current No. 1 North Carolina, 4-0.
ON THE RECORD
"So proud of our team and staff for the way the represented the University of Delaware today," head coach Rolf van de Kerkhof said. "The team culture they developed and the expectations they lived allowed the players group to grow as individuals and as a team. Our performance improved over time, resulting in us playing our best hockey in recent weeks. We can be very proUD of our team for winning the CAA Championship and bringing University of Delaware back as a Sweet 16 team in the NCAA Tournament. As a program we want to sincerely thank our seniors Morgan Bradford, Genevieve Johnson, Valentina Martorell and graduate students Lulu Fulton, Ryleigh McComas, and Cecile van Eijck. The six of them have added so much to our team culture and performance. They have made all in our program not only better players and coaches, but even more importantly, better people. Their passion for team, life and people will benefit them greatly in their futures."
