Minicucci Name CAA Co-Offensive Player of the Week

NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware football quarterback Nick Minicucci has been named the CAA Co-Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday. The award is the first of Minicucci's career and recognizes his performance in Delaware's victory over Campbell.
Minicucci had a career day against the Camels, passing for career-highs of 230 yards and four touchdowns. He also ran for personal-bests 78 yards and two scores. He rushed for 56 yards on one drive in the fourth quarter before throwing a touchdown pass to make it a two-score game. Minicucci finished with 308 total yards of offense and accounted for six total touchdowns, the most since Nolan Henderson accounted for six scores against Monmouth in 2022. He became the first Delaware quarterback to rush for multiple touchdowns since Joe Walker ran for a pair of score against James Madison in 2015.
Delaware scored on its first four possessions against Campbell to move to 9-1 on the season and 6-1 in CAA play with a 41-22 victory. The Blue Hens finished with 529 total yards of offense, including 299 on the ground, while the defense held Campbell to 327 total yards and just 60 rushing yards. Minicucci threw two touchdown passes to Phil Lutz and also connected with Jake Thaw and JoJo Bermudez, while Marcus Yarns rushed for 134 yards, his third-consecutive 100-yard performance.
It is the second weekly honor of the season for the Blue Hens as Lutz was also recognized as CAA Offensive Player of the Week after UD's win over Maine in October.

The Blue Hens will close out the 2024 season on Saturday at Villanova in the annual Battle of the Blue. It will be Delaware's final game as an FCS member. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on FloFootball.
