Gingrich Earns Phil Steele All-America Honors

NEWARK, Del. – For the second time this week, University of Delaware football offensive lineman Brock Gingrich has been selected as an All-American as he has earned a spot on the Phil Steele FCS 2024 All-American Fourth Team. Gingrich received his first-career All-America nod on Wednesday as he was named to the Stats Perform All-American Second Team.
Gingrich, who also received All-ECAC recognition on Thursday, earned his first all-conference nod in 2024 as he was named to the All-CAA First Team. He helped lead UD's offensive line that spearheaded a rushing attack that averaged 184.3 rush yards per game. which ranked fourth in the CAA and was UD's most since 2017. The Blue Hens saw an improvement in their rushing attack each of the past three seasons and increased by more than 40 yards per game from 2022. This season, UD's offense ranked second in the CAA with 437.8 total yards per game and Delaware allowed 17 sacks on the season, the fewest since allowing 11 in 2016.
A two-time team captain, Gingrich started and played in nine games in his final season in the Blue & Gold, and finished his career having played in 45 games at center, with 39 starts. The Reinholds, Pennsylvania native has twice been named a nominee for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, one of the most coveted community service awards in college football.
Season tickets for the 2025 season, Delaware's inaugural campaign at the FBS level, are on sale now. Fans who purchase season tickets by February 28, 2025 can save up to 34 percent on their season ticket packages over single-game ticket prices. The Blue Hens will play six home games at Delaware Stadium, including non-conference contests against Delaware State (Aug. 28) and UConn (Sept. 13). Season ticket members also get first access to away game tickets, including UD's games at Colorado (Sept. 6) and Wake Forest (Nov. 22). The eight-game Conference USA schedule, which consists of four home games, will be announced by February.
