WILMINGTON, N.C. – No. 48 University of Delaware men's tennis suffered its first loss of the season at No. 71 UNCW on Wednesday, 4-1. The Blue Hens move to 13-1 overall and 4-1 in CAA competition, while the Seahawks advance to 9-5, 3-0 CAA.
ON THE RECORD
"We knew this day was going to come sooner or later," Head Men's Tennis Coach Marc Pibernat said. "We played the best doubles we have all season; however, we did not remain competitive as a team throughout our singles matches. We went down first set on every court and as the match was developing, we were losing more momentum. It's a good wake up call for the remainder of the season and especially for the CAA Championship. Us coaches we want to take a moment to reflect and praise what the team has done this season because we are definitely not going to let this loss shadow the amazing season we are having."
