Women’s Tennis Marches Past #8 Hampton to Reach CAA Championship Semifinals

ELON, N.C. – Top-seeded University of Delaware women's tennis marched past #8 Hampton Friday for a 4-0 win to advance to the CAA Championship Semifinals on Saturday. The Blue Hens move to 19-6 on the season, while the Pirates dip to 14-9.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

After a slow start in doubles, UD quickly returned to form and claimed the doubles point.
Eliza Askarova cruised to a straight set win in the second slot to push the lead to 2-0.
Navya Vadlamudi wasn't too far behind to push the margin to 3-0 with her No. 5 singles win.
Maryia Hrynashka clinched the win for the Blue & Gold with a flawless third set in the third flight.

MATCH NOTES

Hrynashka moves into sole possession of fourth place in single season wins with 25 on the year. She's 25-6 overall.
