NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware football program has announced a home-and-home future series with Coastal Carolina that will take place during the 2026 and 2029 seasons. The series will begin on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Delaware Stadium and the Blue Hens will make the return trip to Conway, South Carolina for a matchup on September 22, 2029.
The 2026 matchup will be UD's season opener and it will be the second nonconference FBS opponent to play at Delaware Stadium following a 2025 matchup with UConn. It is the second game currently on the 2026 schedule as the Blue Hens will also travel to Virginia for a contest later in September. Delaware will travel to Brooks Stadium in 2029 to close out the series.
These will be the first-ever meetings between the two programs despite Coastal Carolina being an FCS opponent from its inception until moving to the FBS level in 2017. The Chanticleers went 8-5 last season with a 5-3 record in the Sun Belt and defeated San Jose State 24-14 in the EasyPost Hawai'i Bowl. Since its move to FBS, Coastal Carolina is 52-35 and has appeared in a bowl game in four-straight seasons.
Season tickets and partial plan packages for the 2024 season are on sale now. With an additional home game in 2024, the ticket price per game for every season ticket in the stadium decreased from last season. Due to the additional home game, the total season ticket price increased slightly from 2023. Season ticket members save up to $27 per game over individual game tickets. Furthermore, season ticket prices will not increase for renewing season ticket members for the inaugural season of FBS in 2025.
Single game tickets for all home games, except UD's Parents & Family Weekend contest against Sacred Heart (Sep. 28), will go on sale on June 1. Fans can purchase tickets to Parents and Family weekend now if you purchase season tickets or within a partial plan package.
