NEWARK, Del. – For the second-consecutive season, University of Delaware football offensive lineman Brock Gingrich has been named a nominee for the 2024 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team. Gingrich is one of 178 nominees across all divisions of college football.
The final roster of 23 award recipients – 11 players from the NCAA FBS, 11 from all other divisions and NAIA and one honorary head coach – will be announced later in September. All members are selected by a voting panel of former Allstate AFCA Good Works Team members, current and former head coaches and journalists who look for exceptional leadership on and off the football field.
A nominee in 2023 as well, Gingrich has appeared in 36 games with 30 starts at center in his UD career. He has started in all 26 games over the past two seasons and spearheaded an offensive line in 2023 that helped lead a rushing attack that averaged 160.2 yards/game, an improvement of 16.8 yards/game. In the classroom, Gingrich is a four-time member of the CAA Football Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll.
The Reinholds, Pennsylvania native is also heavily involved in the Delaware community. Gingrich is active with the UDANCE and Reps for Kids, which both raise money for the B+ Foundation, as well as Food Bank of Delaware and Journey Church. On campus, Gingrich is a CAA SAAC Rep and works with the UD Choices Committee, BLUE and the 302 Tour.
The Blue Hens will open the 2024 season on Thursday, August 29 against Bryant at Delaware Stadium. Tickets for the 2024 season are on sale now with fans able to purchase season tickets, partial plan packages and single game tickets for all seven of Delaware's home games.
