Delaware Student-Athletes Tally Best Academic Semester Ever

NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware student-athletes posted an all-time high semester GPA for the fall of 2024 with a 3.404, the Department of Athletics, Community, and Campus Recreation (DACCR) announced Tuesday. All teams posted a GPA at 3.00 or higher. Collectively, the department has now registered a 3.00 in 22-straight semesters, including five-consecutive semesters and 3.20 or higher.
"Our student-athletes continue to excel in the classroom and that is no surprise based on their commitment to excellence," Director of Athletics, Community, and Campus Recreation Chrissi Rawak said. "This is a true testament to the hard work of not only our student-athletes, but our faculty, coaches, and staff as well. I'm incredibly proUD of what these groups continue to accomplish together!"
Women's golf led the way with a 3.80, followed by its male counterpart at 3.71. Women's soccer, women's lacrosse, women's tennis, rowing, and track & field rounded out the eight teams at 3.50 or better for the term.
The UD spirit program also posted GPAs above the 3.00 threshold, led by the dance team at 3.53.
A total of 271 student-athletes landed on the Dean's list, totaling 46-percent of the population. Both of those numbers are all-time highs. An impressive 62 students also tallied a perfect 4.0 semester.

Located in Newark, Delaware, University of Delaware Athletics, Community, and Campus Recreation sponsors 21 varsity sports and three spirit teams. Aiming to achieve excellence together, the department boasts a storied history of 529 All-Americans, 138 conference titles, and 10 national championships. Currently competing in the Coastal Athletic Association, the department will transition to FBS football and become a full-time member of Conference USA, while also adding women's ice hockey as the 22nd varsity sport – both effective July 1, 2025.
