Marcus Yarns Invited to NFL Combine

NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware football running back Marcus Yarns has been invited to take part in the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine. Yarns becomes the ninth Blue Hen to earn an invitation to the Combine which will feature approximately 300 aspiring NFL rookies who will showcase their talents and skills in front of top executives, coaching staffs, player personnel departments and medical personnel from all 32 NFL teams
The 2025 NFL Combine will be held February 27 through March 2 at Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts. The full schedule and dates for each position will be available at a later date. Yarns and the rest of the nation's top college football players who are eligible for the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft will undergo medical, mental and physical assessments including the 40-yard dash, bench press, vertical jump, broad jump, and position-specific drills.
Yarns is the ninth Blue Hen to earn an invitation to the Combine, and first since 2019. He joins Nasir Adderley (2019), Bilal Nichols (2018), Nick Boyle (2015), Zach Kerr (2014), Joe Flacco (2008), Pat Devlin (2011), Ben Patrick (2007) and Eddie Conti (1999).
In October, Yarns received an invitation to the 2025 East-West Shrine Bowl. He will join teammate Tyron Herring on January 30 at the 100th rendition of the longest-running college all-star game at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, in Arlington, Texas.
The Salisbury, Maryland native ended his Delaware career in style, earning All-CAA First Team honors in 2024 after leading the Blue Hens with 844 rushing yards and six touchdowns, while also catching 17 passes for 297 yards and five scores. He averaged 126.8 all-purpose yards per game and had five games with at least 100 rushing yards, including four-consecutive games to end the season.
Yarns finished his UD career with 2,344 rushing yards and 3,156 all-purpose yards, scoring 34 total touchdowns. He ranks 10th in program history in career rushing yards and is the third Blue Hen all-time to score at least 20 rushing touchdowns (23) and 10 receiving touchdowns (11). Yarns earned a spot on the FCS Football Central All-American Third Team as well as All-CAA Second Team recognition after a breakout 2023 season.

Season tickets for the 2025 season, Delaware's inaugural campaign at the FBS level, are on sale now. Fans who purchase season tickets by February 28, 2025 can save up to 34 percent on their season ticket packages over single-game ticket prices. The Blue Hens will play six home games at Delaware Stadium, including non-conference contests against Delaware State (Aug. 28) and UConn (Sept. 13). Season ticket members also get first access to away game tickets, including UD's games at Colorado (Sept. 6) and Wake Forest (Nov. 22). The eight-game Conference USA schedule, which consists of four home games, will be announced by February.
