Women’s Swimming & Diving Breaks 10-Year Program Record; Novinskiy Earns Second NCAA Cut at Day One of Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. – University of Delaware women's swimming & diving is in second place with 416 points after one day of competition at the Bucknell Invitational.
The women's 200-free relay broke a program record set in 2015 in the first race of the final round. Judy Liu, Elishka Hajek, Abby Steinbrook, and Angi Ragazzoni raced to a second-place finish at a 1:31.40 time, overtaking the 1:31.86 time set by Dominique Montoya, Jordan Sawyer, Alyssa Sanders, and Morgan Whyte at the 2015 Colonial Athletic Association Championships.
Novinskiy set a program record of her own in the 200-IM at 1:56.73, earning her second NCAA cut of the year.
RESULTS
After the 200-free relay, the Hens had two top-five finishes in the 500-free, with Elisa Spera finishing in third at 4:50.01 and Lauren Hartel recording a fourth-place finish at 4:52.32.
Novinskiy grabbed her program record at a four-second margin, leading by three or more seconds for the last three laps. In the preliminary round of the same race, she also set the record at 1:57.40, but was able to break that in the finals.
Liu placed third in the 50-free B-Final at 23.45, while Elishka Hajek finished in third in the C-Final at 23.58.
Alex Pastris recorded a sixth-place finish in the 3-meter dive with a score of 262.40.
Rounding out the night, the Hens picked up their second victory of the night, with Ragazzoni, Piper Price, Novinskiy, and Olivia Willemsen finishing the 400-medley relay at 3:38.93.

Day two starts at 10 a.m. tomorrow, with the finals starting at 6 p.m.
