NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware Men's Golf Head Coach Brendon Post has announced the upcoming spring schedule for the men's golf team. The Fightin' Blue Hens will compete in five tournaments as they prepare for their first Conference USA Championship in April.
The full schedule can be seen here.
Delaware will start its spring campaign in early February when the squad travels to Puerto Rico for the Palmas del Mar Collegiate (Feb. 8-10), hosted by UNCG. The tournament will be played at the Palmas Del Mar Flamboyan in Humacao, Puerto Rico.
Following an extended break, the Blue Hens will return to action at the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate (March 23-24), hosted by William & Mary. Play will take place at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club in Williamsburg, Virginia. UD last competed in the tournament in the spring 2021, turning in an eighth-place finish behind top-10 placings by Roberto Nieves and Hugo Kedzlie.
The Blue & Gold will close out March at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate (March 30-31), hosted by South Alabama. The 54-hole tournament will be held at Magnolia Grove in Semmes, Alabama. At last year's event, the Blue Hens finished fifth and Arsit Areephun tied the program record with a 7-under par 64 in the second round.
Delaware will return to the Mid-Atlantic for the Giles-Spratley Collegiate (April 6-7), hosted by Richmond. Play will be held at Independence Golf Club in Midlothian, Virginia.
The final regular season tournament will see the Blue Hens aim to defend their team title at the Rutherford Intercollegiate (April 18-19), hosted by Penn State. Last spring, UD recorded consecutive under-par rounds on Saturday and Sunday on its way to its first tournament title since the 2021-22 season. Ikk Iampongsai (-2) and Matthew Homer (E) both finished in the top 10.
The Blue & Gold will compete in its first-ever Conference USA Men's Golf Championship (April 27-30) at Texarkana Country Club in Texarkana, Arkansas. Teams will compete in a stroke play tournament format over the first three days before the top four teams advance to a match play semifinals and final on the final day.
Delaware is coming off a strong fall campaign that saw the squad register a team victory and three total top-five finishes in five tournaments. The Blue Hens cruised to a 29-stroke victory at the Blue Hen Intercollegiate, the program's first home tournament since college golf moved to multiple-team events. Areephun won his first collegiate tournament at the Blue Hen Intercollegiate, carding a 7-under par over the 54 holes.
