Cross Country Moves Up in Mid-Atlantic Regional Poll

NEWARK, Del. — The University of Delaware cross country program is ranked No. 11 in the NCAA Division I Mid-Atlantic Region poll, the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) announced on Monday.
Per the USTFCCCA, rankings are determined by one member coach in each respective region, measuring returning team's prospects and current season results to determine rankings in member programs.
The Fightin' Blue Hens enter the regional rankings after a fourth place finish at the Conference USA Championships on November 1. At the CUSA Championships, the Blue Hens were led by Marie-Theres Gruber, who finished second overall with a time of 20:21.94. She earned first team all-conference honors. The Blue Hens team average 6K time of 21:15 is the best in program history.
They were ranked No. 14 in the previous poll on October 20, moving up three spots. Click here to view the poll.
UD travels to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to compete in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional on Friday, November 14. The Blue Hens previously competed on the same course, the Paul Short Run, earlier this season on October 3.
