Women’s Golf, Dunigan Finish Second at Inaugural More Than Golf Invitational

AIKEN, S.C. – Mary Grace Dunigan was the individual runner-up and the University of Delaware women's golf team carded 53 birdies over three rounds to finish second at the inaugural More Than Golf Invitational. Finishing behind only No. 36 Georgia Southern, the Blue Hens turned in a three-round score of 18-over par 894. The tournament was created by the ANNIKA Foundation in partnership with Old Barnwell and co-hosted by Augusta University and Columbia University. It was played at the par-73, 6,425-yard Old Barnwell Golf Club.

The Blue Hens will close out the regular season next weekend when they make the short trip to College Park, Maryland for the Maryland Terps Invite. Play will be held April 6-7 at the University of Maryland Golf Course.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Delaware was in third after each of the first two days, before finishing in second after the final round. The Blue Hens posted 15 birdies on Sunday after totaling 22 on Saturday and 16 on Friday.
- Dunigan had six birdies on Friday as she held the tournament's 18-hole lead after posting a season-best 4-under par 69. She finished with 12 total birdies over the 54 holes as she turned in even-par rounds on Saturday and Sunday.
- Kim, playing as an individual, recorded her first top-10 finish of her career. She carded six birdies for the tournament and was 1-under par after the first round and posted an even-par 73 on Saturday.
- Khokhlova turned in her third top-10 finish of the season as she totaled 11 birdies for the tournament. She bounced back from a tough opening round with six birdies on Saturday and was 1-under par on Sunday.
- Henkel had six birdies in each of the final two rounds, finishing with 13 for the weekend, to shoot up into the rankings and finish among the top 20.
