Football Inks Transfer QB Riley Trujillo

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware football program signed Riley Trujillo, head coach Ryan Carty announced Tuesday. Trujillo joins the Blue Hens after spending the previous season redshirting at UCF.
Trujillo, a St. Johns, Florida native, graduated from Bartram Trail High School in 2023. The 6-3 signal caller was the 11th-ranked dual-threat quarterback in the class of 2024 according to Rivals. He was rated as the No. 50 quarterback recruit in the nation and a three-star prospect by 247Sports.
Trujillo passed for 4,610 yards and 40 touchdowns for Bartram Trail, while adding 1,801 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground. As a senior in 2023, Trujillo completed 99-of-177 passes for 1,549 yards and 13 touchdowns, leading the Bears to an 8-5 record and a regional final appearance in the Florida 4S Playoffs. In 2022, he led Bartram Trail to a 12-1 record and Florida 4S district title, completing 132-of-231 passes (57-percent) for 1,910 yards with 15 TDs as a junior. He rushed for 710 yards and five more scores, averaging 7.2 yards per carry in 2022.
Some of his high school accolades include the Florida Times-Union SUPER 11, Rivals MVP Golden Ball Award Winner, Elite 11 Regional Finalist (2022, 2023, 2024), Volusia-Flagler-St. Johns All-Area Football Offensive Team, nominated for Florida Offensive Player of the Year (2022), Offensive MVP National Combine at the 2023 All-American Bowl, News4Jax First Team selection, Second Team All-State (2022), and being on the ESPN Top 300 list (2022).
Trujillo selected the Knights out of high school over other notable offers from Arkansas, Duke, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kansas, Louisville, Maryland, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, and Virginia Tech.

Season tickets for Delaware's inaugural 2025 campaign at the FBS level are now on sale. Fans who purchase season tickets can save up to 27-percent compared to single-game tickets. The Blue Hens will host six games at Delaware Stadium, and season ticket holders will have first access to upgrade their seats or parking, as well as purchase additional tickets for home and away games - including UD's matchups at Colorado (Sep. 6) and Wake Forest (Nov. 22). Partial plans and select individual game tickets will be available later this spring.
