Football Position Previews: Safeties

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware football team is preparing for its first year at the FBS level, a historic season that kicks off at home against Delaware State on Thursday, August 28 at 7 p.m. Throughout fall camp, positional previews will be posted online to spotlight the different units that make up the 2025 Fightin' Blue Hens.
SAFETIES
Assistant Head Coach - Defense and Special Teams and Safeties Coach Art Link leads the unit in his fourth season with the Blue Hens.
"We have three to four guys that are in that starter-realm," Link said. "If you tier it, we have a mix of ones, twos, and threes, where our threes are just young and athletic, and they're able to learn from the other guys. When you have a nice layer of experienced guys and then you have a nice group of freshmen, it helps because you're not relying on that talented freshman to play right away.
The room is one of the most experienced on the roster, featuring KT Seay, Jason Scott, and Hasson Manning Jr. who started 11, 10, and nine games, respectively, a season ago. Seay was a All-CAA Third Team selection last season.
Mysonne Pollard is another returning veteran, appearing in all 11 games off the bench in 2024. Other returnees include Alex Nash-Lally, Kingsley Royal, and Nate Spak. New this year are number changes for Seay (14 to 7), Manning Jr. (31 to 3), and Pollard (18 to 2).
Joining the unit this season are Boston College transfer Kahlil Ali as well as freshmen, Nasir Eatmon (Waldorf, Md. / North Point), AJ Graham (Mooresville, N.C. / Mooresville), Dillon Griffith (Newark, Del. / Appoquinimink), and Noah Jefferson (Hampton, Va. / Phoebus).
