Delaware Announces Partnership with Athlete’s Thread

NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware Athletics and Athlete's Thread have joined forces in a first-of-its-kind partnership to effectively promote and collaborate on a wide variety of customizable NIL merchandise for your favorite Fightin' Blue Hens, the organizations announced jointly Monday. The partnership will allow for strategic promotional and marketing campaigns to story tell around the 22 varsity sports and spirit program.
Fans will be able to continue purchasing custom apparel with Delaware student-athletes' names and images on it to support the Hens. This will include a variety of apparel, including replica jerseys with student-athletes' names on it. Examples of these one-of-a-kind products include highlighting key milestones like women's lacrosse's Delaney McDaniel's career assist record and softball's Sydney Shaffer's single-season home run record.
"We are so excited to partner with Athlete's Thread," Interim Director of Athletics, Community, and Campus Recreation Jordan Skolnick said. "This is an incredible opportunity for our student-athletes to capitalize on their name, image, and likeness, while providing family, friends, and fans the ability to showcase the custom gear centered around their favorite Hens!"
Athlete's Thread is the leading NIL merchandise platform, partnering with over 46,000 student-athletes across 380+ colleges to create premium, limited-edition merchandise collections. With plans to surpass 75,000 athletes onboarded, it is the largest provider of licensed NIL apparel in the country.

Located in Newark, Delaware, University of Delaware Athletics, Community, and Campus Recreation sponsors 22 varsity sports and three spirit teams. Aiming to achieve excellence together, the department boasts a storied history of 543 All-Americans, 172 team conference titles, 282 individual conference crowns, and 10 national championships. Fourteen of UD's 22 varsity programs will be housed in Conference USA, with seven others joining as affiliate members in the Atlantic Sun (women's lacrosse, men's and women's swimming & diving), Atlantic 10 (men's lacrosse), Mid-American Conference (rowing), The Summit League (men's soccer), and Atlantic Hockey America (ice hockey). Field hockey will play an independent schedule this fall as the department continues to work diligently to finalize a new conference for the reigning CAA champions. The Blue Hens' student-athletes have achieved a 3.0 GPA or better in 23-consecutive semesters, including its best year ever in 2024-25 at 3.41.
