Women's Soccer Continues Hot Start to Season with 2-0 Win over George Mason

FAIRFAX, Va. – The University of Delaware women's soccer program continues its hot start to the season and defeated George Mason by a score of 2-0 on Thursday.
With the win, the Fightin' Blue Hens overall record improves to 3-0.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- Lilli Lubic and Brooke Vogel scored goals for the Blue Hens in Thursday's win.
- For Lubic, it was her first goal as a collegiate athlete. For Vogel, it's her first of the season and her fourth career goal.
- Lubic's goal was assisted by Maggie Groh. Vogel's goal was assisted by Lubic.
- Starting in net, for the third straight game, was Sophia Hall. She collected five saves on the game and earned her first collegiate shutout.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lubic's goal came in the 24th minute of the first half. She received the ball from Groh in the goalkeeper box. She kicked it past the goalkeeper to the bottom left part of the net.
- Vogel's goal was scored in the 82nd minute of the second half. She received a set piece pass from Lubic, and headed the ball past a crowd of players, including the goalkeeper.
GAME NOTES
- The 3-0 record marks the best to a regular season under third year head coach Kelly Lawrence, and best start since 2006.
- Hall is the first freshman to record a solo shutout since Odaliana Gomez back on September 29, 2022, against Elon.
- Groh has registered a point in all three games for the Blue Hens this season, and has three goals, and three assists on the season.
