Football Position Previews: Tight Ends

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware football team is preparing for its first year at the FBS level, a historic season that kicks off at home against Delaware State on Thursday, August 28 at 7 p.m. Throughout fall camp, positional previews will be posted online to spotlight the different units that make up the 2025 Fightin' Blue Hens.
TIGHT ENDS
Assistant Special Teams Coordinator and Tight Ends Coach Garrett Smith commands the unit in his fourth season with the Blue Hens.
"Elijah [Sessoms] and Connor [Witthoft] have done a really good job helping out all the younger guys: Jackson Whitacre, Scott Moore, Jaxson Bowman, Maddox Sills, and Logan Klein," Smith said. "All those guys are taking the next step during fall camp."
After losing last year's starter Caleb Fauria, the room is going to feature key returners, Elijah Sessoms and Connor Witthoft. Sessoms has appeared in 24 games over his three years in the 302, while Witthoft appeared in all 11 games in his first year in Newark last season after transferring from New Mexico.
Other returners include Logan Klein and Jackson Whitacre, as well as freshmen Jaxson Bowman (Cherry Hill, N.J. / Cherry Hill East), Scott Moore (Girard, Kan. / Girard), and Maddox Sills (Benson, N.C. / South Johnston).
