Field Hockey’s Bekker and Michielsen Sweep MPSF Weekly Awards

SEATTLE, Wash. – University of Delaware field hockey earned both Offensive and Defensive Players of the week in its first week as a member of the conference.
Alexa Michielsen and Iris Bekker earned the inaugural laurels from the conference in its first week of action.
Michielsen, playing in her third career Division I game after three seasons at DII Shippensburg, netted a goal with 43 seconds remaining at No. 18 Penn State. That goal ultimately led to two extra periods of competition.
Bekker assisted on the Fightin' Blue Hens' opening goal, while playing all 76 minutes in the contest. This was her third consecutive game with a point, as she ties for the team lead with seven after the second weekend of play.
UP NEXT
The Blue Hens return home this weekend to play host to Kent State on Friday, September 12 (6 p.m.), and Bucknell on Sunday, September 14 (1 p.m.).
