Football Inks Coastal Carolina Transfer TE Josh Humes

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware football program has signed Coastal Carolina transfer TE Josh Humes, head coach Ryan Carty announced Thursday. Humes joins the Fightin' Blue Hens with one season of eligibility remaining as a mid-year enrollee.
The 6-1, 230-pound tight end joins the Blue & Gold after appearing in 13 games for the Chanticleers during the 2025 campaign. He had previously spent the 2023 and 2024 seasons at Northwest Mississippi Community College. During his time at the junior college level, Humes was a First Team All-MACCC honoree.
A native of Hernando, Miss., he graduated from Hernando High School where he was a three-year starter and a captain his senior season.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Humes is the son of Shawanda Newberry and Michael Humes, and has three siblings. At UD he intends to study marketing.
