NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware football has signed Penn State transfer DT Sam Siafa, head coach Ryan Carty announced Tuesday. Siafa joins the Fightin' Blue Hens having not used a season of eligibility and will join UD after finishing his degree at Penn State.
Over his four seasons in State College, the 6-4, 300-pound defensive tackle appeared in three games for the Nittany Lions. He earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2024 and 2025.
Prior to heading to Penn State, the Downingtown, Pa. native graduated from Downingtown West High School. In his lone season of football, he posted 40 tackles, two sacks, and a pass break up.
Born in Claremore, Okla., Siafa is the son of Fatorma and Karnecha, and has two older siblings. Both his parents work for Chick-fil-A, with his father being an operator and mother being a manager. After finishing his football career, he would like to follow in his parents footsteps by being a Chick-Fil-A operator.
Siafa is cousins with former Penn State/West Virginia footballer Fatorma Mulbah, who spent part of the 2025 season on the New York Jets' practice squad.
At UD, he intends to study hospitality business management.
