HOW IT HAPPENED

It was an exciting back-and-forth game in a scoreless first period as Delaware outshot Lindenwood 12-8.
After the Lions took a 1-0 lead on a power play goal five minutes into the second period, the Blue Hens quickly responded with two goals of their own.
Schneider finished off a two-on-one break as she buried a rebound from a well-placed shot by Lily Myers to tie the score with 11:10 on the clock.
Just 1:25 later, Barresi grabbed a loose puck in the neutral zone and skated up the boards. She fired a low hard shot that beat the goalie's glove to give Delaware a 2-1 lead.
The Blue Hens held off a Lindenwood barrage in the early going of the third period as Payne stood tall in net.
Abboud slammed home an empty-netter with 1:50 left to play and MacIntyre sent one of the length of the ice for another empty net tally with 13 seconds remaining to provide the final score.

OF NOTE

Schneider's goal was the first of her career and first collegiate point.
Abboud and MacIntyre both scored their first-career goals.
Myers and Katie Belk both picked up assists in the second period for their first-career points.
