Men’s Golf Battles at Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational

FARMINGTON, Pa. – The University of Delaware men's golf team put together strong second and third rounds to finish in a tie for 13th at the Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational, hosted by West Virginia. The Fightin' Blue Hens carded a three-round team score of 43-over par. The 16-team tournament was played at the par-72, 7,526-yard Mystic Rock Golf Course.
Additionally, Chikun Xin and Michael Najburg competed in the individual tournament, the Shepherd's Rock Individual. They finished ninth and 12th, respectively, in the 14-player field. The tournament was played at the par-72, 7,151-yard Shepherd's Rock Golf Course.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Delaware finished with 27 total birdies and two eagles over the 54 holes in the team event.
- Mazzalupi had a team-high seven birdies over his three rounds.
- Iampongsai fired a 3-under par 69 in Monday's second round, draining three birdies and an eagle.
- Matthew Homer had two birdies and an eagle on Tuesday as he finished his tournament with an even-par 72.
- In the individual tournament, Xin drained five of his eight birdies during Monday's second round as he carded a 3-under par 69.
- Najburg hit three birdies in each of Monday's two rounds, firing a 1-under par 71 in the second round.
UP NEXT
The Blue Hens will wrap up their fall schedule when they host the second-annual Blue Hen Intercollegiate. The two-day, three-round tournament will be played October 19-20 at Wyncote Golf Club in Oxford, Pennsylvania. Delaware will look to defend its title from its inaugural home tournament last year when the Blue Hens won by 29 strokes.
