NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware football has made several staffing updates, head coach Ryan Carty announced Tuesday.
Manny Rojas - Assistant Head Coach, Defense / Defensive Coordinator / Safeties
Rojas, who has been on staff at UD for eight seasons overall and four under Carty, has been elevated to assistant head coach, defense and will take on direct oversight as the safeties coach. Over his career, Rojas has coached 23 all-americans and 35 all-conference players.
Rocco DiMeco - Co-Defensive Coordinator / Special Teams Coordinator / Linebackers
DiMeco just completed his third season at UD and second as special teams coordinator. He's developed eight all-conference selections during his tenure. Delaware became just the fourth team over the last 10 college football seasons to successfully execute three onside kicks, and the only one to do so at a 100-percent rate. DiMeco aided K Nate Reed to an Academic All-America nod, All-CUSA selection, and an invite to the NFL Specialist Showcase at the NFL Combine. He also helped guide KR Mysonne Pollard to an All-CUSA laurel.
Xavier Dye - Running Backs / Recruiting Coordinator
Dye joined the Hens in January of 2025 after two seasons at Coastal Carolina. He will be taking on the recruiting coordinator role in addition to remaining the running backs coach.
Tyler Ferguson - Tight Ends
After joining the Fightin' Blue Hens before the spring 2021 season as an offensive analyst, Ferguson was elevated to senior offensive analyst prior to the 2024 season and has spent the past five seasons working with the offensive line where he has aided nine Hens to all-conference accolades. Starting in spring 2026, he will coach the tight ends.
Garrett Smith - Quarterbacks
Smith completed his fourth season in 2025 on staff at Delaware, serving as the tight ends coach since the 2022 season. Ahead of the 2024 season he was elevated to assistant special teams coordinator. Over his time in Newark, he's aided five Hens to all-conference nods. In his new role, the former gunslinger at Louisiana-Monroe, will coach the quarterbacks for UD.
Theo Brown - Senior Special Teams Analyst
Brown joined the Blue & Gold prior to the 2025 season as a special teams analyst and played an integral role in the success of the unit. Alongside DiMeco, Brown aided Delaware to become just the fourth team over the last 10 college football seasons to successfully execute three onside kicks, and the only one to do so at a 100-percent rate. He also aided K Nate Reed to an Academic All-America nod, All-CUSA selection, and an invite to the NFL Specialist Showcase at the NFL Combine. He also helped guide KR Mysonne Pollard to an All-CUSA laurel.
Noah Plack - Senior Defensive Analyst
Plack joined the staff prior to the 2025 season and worked primarily with the safeties. In his new role, he will continue to work with the safeties alongside Rojas. Plack, a UD grad and three-time all-conference selection, aided S KT Seay to another standout season where he earned an All-CUSA selection and Hero Sports Group of 5 All-America nod.
