NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware football has hired 10-year coaching veteran Jarred Holley as assistant coach, bandits, head coach Ryan Carty announced Wednesday.
"We are excited to add an experienced coach like Jarred to our staff," Carty said. "His diverse resume as a coach and player at all levels of football will bring another impactful voice to our staff."
A seasoned coach and player, Holley has coached six different defensive backs to all-conference laurels and has either coached or played in 10 bowl games, two FCS playoff appearances, and holds a pair of conference titles.
"I'm extremely excited for the opportunity to join the University of Delaware family," Holley said. "I'm looking forward to working with this great staff and the young men I have the privilege of coaching. I can't wait to build relationships with each and every one of them."
Holley comes to Newark after spending the 2025 season as the defensive backs coach at Marshall.

The previous six seasons were spent as a defensive backs coach at James Madison (2023), North Texas (2021-22), and UAlbany (2018-2020). During his final season with the Great Danes, he also served as pass game coordinator.
His 2015-17 assignments were at Arizona State starting as special teams graduate assistant/nickel coach (2015), defensive graduate assistant (2016), and defensive analyst (2017).
A standout safety at Pitt, Holley was a four-year starter for the Panthers having served as a captain his final two seasons. Over 52 career starts, he tallied 244 tackles, 13 PBUs, 11 interceptions, and a pair of fumble recoveries. Holley was a First Team All-Big East selection at safety in 2010 and 2011, helping the team to be named Co-Big East Champions in 2010. He landed on the Bronko Nagurski and Jim Thorpe Award Watch List.
A Big East All-Academic Team and dean's list honoree, Holley earned two bachelors degrees from the University of Pittsburgh, with one in communications and rhetoric in 2011 and another in administration of justice in 2013.
