Men's Tennis Blanks FGCU 4-0 in Hard-Fought Match

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The University of Delaware men's tennis team started off its spring break trip by sweeping FGCU by a score of 4-0 on Tuesday.
The win elevates the Fightin' Blue Hens to 12-3 on the season, while the Eagles drop to 8-11.

"Massive win," interim head coach Nathan Perrone said. "Nothing came easy. Scoreline doesn't reflect the battle one bit. FGCU is such a well coached team. Thank you to their coaches for having us. Time to use this to fight as hard as possible against Miami tomorrow."

HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- UD picked up its second-consecutive doubles point as Tobey Lock/Luke Tollenaar took down their opponents in second doubles 6-2. Reigning CUSA Doubles Team of the Week Federico Garbero and Pere Prat followed shortly behind to clinch the point at 6-4.
- In singles, Garbero made things quick in the second spot, winning 6-2, 6-1.
- Lock followed suit at 6-1, 6-2 to put the Blue & Gold up 3-0.
- Luke Tollenaar battled through a hard-fought match in fifth singles 7-5, 7-6 (8-6) to clinch the match for Delaware. He improves to 16-2 on the year and 5-0 in dual matches with the victory.
