NEWARK, Del. - University of Delaware women's tennis competed in a hard-fought match, ultimately pulling out a 4-2 victory over VCU on Friday afternoon at Elkton Indoor Tennis.

The Fightin' Blue Hens improve to 14-4, while the Rams fall to 9-9.Â
Â
In this victory, head coach Pablo Montana recorded his 99th-career win at the helm of the women's program.
Â
ON THE RECORD
"Great win for us against a very good VCU team," head coach Pablo Montana said. "We had to battle in doubles, and I was proud of how we stayed steady. We took care of our serves and returns, ultimately clinching the point at number two. In singles, we embraced a physical, four-hour fight and showed great toughness to outlast them in the end. This group is playing with a lot of confidence right now. We'll need that same mindset tomorrow as we take on one of the top Division III teams in the country in Johns Hopkins, currently ranked No. 5."
