Women’s Basketball Lands Iowa Transfer Kennise Johnson

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women's basketball program has signed Iowa transfer Kennise Johnson, head coach Sarah Jenkins announced Friday.
The 5-5 guard joins the Fightin' Blue Hens after spending three seasons with Iowa. She was a member of the team during the 2023-24 season, where the Hawkeyes competed for the national championship, appearing in 20 games throughout her career.
Johnson graduated from Example Academy in 2023, where she won the Prep School National Championship as a junior. She averaged 11.3 points, 6.2 assists, 5.9 rebounds, and 3.1 steals per game in that championship season. She was a nominee for the McDonald's All-American Game as a senior and rated as the #3 guard and #13 overall recruit from Illinois in her class by Prep Girl Hoops.
Born in Joliet, Ill., Kennise is the daughter of Aujani and Emmanuel Etienne and has eight siblings Kach, Ary, Ayanna, Alyssa, Amyah, EJ, Ramon, and Amontae.
