Women's Basketball Signs Ema Rychtecká

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women's basketball program has signed Ema Rychtecká, completing its 2026-27 roster, head coach Sarah Jenkins announced Tuesday.
The 5-9 guard comes to Newark after competing on the national team circuit for Czechia, most recently in U19 competition.
A Brno, Czechia native, Rychtecká graduated from the Sports Gymnasium of Ludvik Danek. She was a four-year starter and two-time captain.
Throughout her amateur career, Rychtecká was part of teams that finished in fourth place in the U19 extraleague for three of the last four reasons, reaching second place with her squad in 2026. In the past two seasons in the Czech Women's Basketball league, she assisted her team in two second place finishes.
Ema is the daughter of Andrea Rychtecká and has a brother, Matej. Her brother plays for Basket Brno in the Czech Republic NBL and has represented the national team at the U18 and U20 levels.
