Behind the Feathers: A Monthly Communication from Delaware Athletics

It's hard to believe that we are just days away from our first competition of the fall season, but we are back at it in Newark and I couldn't be more excited for the year ahead for our Blue Hens!Â
Â
While summer always seems to fly by, there is nothing better than campus feeling alive with students and energy. This summer, my family and I spent some time away at the Delaware beaches, with highlights for my daughters being plenty of ice cream, sand castles, and my way too competitive side coming out as we played arcade games on the boardwalk.Â
Â
In Newark, we're excited to be back in the swing of things, and launching two new ways to communicate with our Blue Hens alumni, donors, fans and friends this year. The first is this, Behind the Feathers, a monthly communication from me sharing behind the scenes information, updates and happenings from our Blue Hens. The second is our new podcast, Fightin' Words, which will release bi-weekly streaming on YouTube or wherever you get your podcasts. Â

For the first episode, I enjoyed catching up with Ed LeFurge to talk about the past year in the AD role, what's ahead for the Blue Hens, and updates in the college sports world, and I hope you'll enjoy hearing that. What I know you'll enjoy more, is hearing from our second guest this episode, Joe Flacco, who was gracious enough to join us earlier this summer to sit down for the podcast and talk about his time at Delaware. Throughout the year the podcast will feature coaches, student-athletes and alumni to celebrate wins, share updates, and tell stories in a fresh new way. We appreciate your continued support of our Blue Hens, and I hope to see you this fall, whether at Grant Stadium cheering on our women's soccer team as they open competition for our teams this Saturday night, at Delaware Stadium cheering on our football team at their home opener September 3rd, or at another competition in the coming months!
