Cross Country Placed 10th at Southern Showcase

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The University of Delaware cross country program had two athletes run under 18 minutes in the women's 5K race to earn a 10^th place team finish at the Southern Showcase on Friday.

The Fightin' Blue Hens were 10^th out of 31 teams that competed this morning. UD will travel back to John Hunt Cross Country Park for the Conference USA championship meet on October 31.

RESULTS

Delaware was led by the freshman duo of Riley Fayer and Julia Flanagan. Fayer finished 40^th overall at 17:40.80 and Flanagan was 58^th place at 17:59.40.
The following three Delaware runners finished within five seconds to round out the top five: Erin McGoey (59th place, 18:00.02), Reese Ragland (64th, place 18:04.50), and Leah Clear (67th place, 18:05.30).
Other Blue Hens who competed include Claire Dufrene (71st place, 18:07.20), Annika Leineweber (76th place, 18:12.70), Ella Peterson (90th place, 18:21.30), Ariana Lopez (92nd place, 18:23.10), Kadence Dumas (137th place, 18:47.60), Delana Einreinhofer (144th place, 18:50.60), Catherine Richards (146th place 18:52.20), Emerson Brinn (154th place, 19:01.80), Maddie Meder (19:16.50), and Libby DeMichele (19:23.40).
