Groh's Second Half Goal Leads Women's Soccer to CUSA Victory Over Missouri State

NEWARK, Del. - With a second-half goal from Maggie Groh, the University of Delaware women's soccer program opened Conference USA play with a 1-0 victory over Missouri State on Sunday at Grant Stadium.

The Fightin' Blue Hens overall record improved to 6-2-3 overall and 1-0 in CUSA.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

Groh, and Gabby Riley led the offense with two shots.
Sophia Hall started in goal and collected two saves. She earned her fourth shutout of the season and her second-career shutout in CUSA play.
Five Blue Hens played in all 90 minutes of Sunday's contest: Hall, Riley, Maura Fisher, Calista Collins and Ava Sallee.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Groh's game-winning goal was scored in the 58^th minute of the second half.
Willa Pratt had the ball at the top of the goalkeeper's box. She was able to find a wide open Adiat Olaogun-Dickson. With the Missouri State defender over-committing on Olaogun-Dickson, she passed the ball to Groh, who then had a one-on-one opportunity with the keeper. Groh had a move, leaving the net wide open, and kicked the ball to the back of the goal.
The goal was Groh's fifth of the season, tying her career high in a season. The assist was Olaogun-Dickson's third of the season, which is the most on the team, and Pratt's first.

GAME NOTES

Hall's shutout was the 10^th of her collegiate career and tied for seventh most in program history.
With Pratt's assist, 12 players on the Blue Hens roster have at least one this season.
Groh's goal was the 14^th of her career, the most among active Blue Hens.
