2014 Season: Initiated to Chi Alpha Sigma for High Academic and Athletic Achievements • CAA All-Academic team • CRCA National Scholar-Athlete, Edgar N. Johnson Jr. Athletic-Academic Scholarship recipient • Captain of rowing team • member of winning crew at season-opening quad meet with St. Joseph's, La Salle, and Drexel • third place finish in Varsity Eights race at Murphy Cup Regatta • member of second place crew in Varsity Eights race at Bucknell Quad Meet • member of crew that finished in 16th at Dad Vail Regatta in Varsity Eights competition • fourth overall finish in Varsity Eights competition at CAA Championship • National College Athlete Honor Society • College Rowing Coaches Association National Scholar-Athlete • Colonial Athletic Association Academic Honor Roll • Colonial Athletic Association All-Academic Team.
2013 Season: Top Occoquan Sprints finisher (4th) with the Junior Varsity Eights • earned a top-five finish at the Knecht Cup (third level final) • competed with the Second Varsity Eights at the Saint Joseph’s Quad Meet, Bucknell Quad Meet, the Dad Vail Regatta and at the CAA Championships • competed with the JV Eights at the Murphy Cup garnering a top-three finish.
2012 Season: Competed in all seven events for the Blue Hens • member of the Varsity Fours boat that finished fifth at the CAA Championships • competed with the Novice Eights during the other six meets of the year • member of the Novice Eights boat that was named National 5 & 10 Best of the Blue Hens Athlete of the Week on April 2 after finishing second at the Occoquan Sprints • earned the UD Team Coaches Award for novice rowers.
High School: Participated in soccer, volleyball, lacrosse, volleyball, and rowing at The Baldwin School • varsity letterwinner in soccer, volleyball, and rowing • earned first team All-Main-Line, All-Inter AC, and second team All-Inter AC honors while playing volleyball • senior captain of the volleyball team • named MVP after senior season of volleyball • elected Athletic Association Representative.
Personal: Denise Maire Cirelli ("sa-rill-e") • born February 22, 1993 • daughter of Joe and Adriane Cirelli • has a younger brother • exercise science major at Delaware with a strength and conditioning minor • began rowing in 11th grade • enjoys baking and playing sports • participated and medaled in the Canadian Nationals in the Lightweight Fours during senior year.
