Internship Program Overview and Application
The Blue Hen Capstone Internship Program offers a unique opportunity for UD undergraduate students to launch your career through real experiences gained in a Division I Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation Services environment. Â The internship is designed not only for you to do great work with the opportunity to learn and grow, but to experience our culture full of diverse community connection and memorable events.
Our interns work on projects that matter – and your team will rely on your skills and insights to help deliver those projects. This is your chance to bring your solutions and ideas to life while working to build your resume. We will help test your career interests and goals, gain valuable on the job experience, and begin to establish valuable networking contacts for your future career. Â
We offer internship roles in the following areas including but not limited to:Â
- Analytics
- Communications (Sports info, Creative Writing, Statistics, PR)
- Compliance (NCAA Rules/Regulations)
- Equipment
- Event Management (guest services/championships)
- Graphic Design
- Facilities and Operations Management (BCC, Field House, Delaware Stadium, Recreation)
- Finance and Accounting
- FitnessÂ
- Fundraising
- Human Resources
- IT
- Marketing/Engagement (Game Presentation, Student Experience, Alumni Engagement)
- Nutrition
- Recreation Services (Intramurals, Club Sports)
- Sales and Services (event sales, rentals, ticket ops, groups)
- Strength and Conditioning (analytics, coaching)
- Student Athlete Welfare (Student Services Leadership, Sport Operations)
Eligibility
Students must be undergraduate students presently enrolled at the University of Delaware. This internship experience can fulfill a capstone course requirement.

Program Information
The Fall program runs from September 1, 2020 through December 18, 2020 with orientation dates the week of September 1; interns will not be eligible for vacation days during this time.
