What is a Virtual 5k/1 Mile Fun Run?
A virtual 5k/1 Mile Fun Run is an online race that can be participated in anywhere at any time. It is a fun and engaging way to show support for Delaware Athletics while practicing social distancing. Â

When is the race?
You can complete the race any time between September 18th and September 20th.

Who can participate in the race?
The Virtual 5k/1 Mile Fun Run is for participants of all ages. Prize packs for top finishers in the 1 Mile Fun Run will only be available for 12 and under and 13-17 year-old age groups.

How do I sign up?
Participants can register here.
Is there a fee?
The registration fee is a donation to the Blue Hen Strong Fund, established to address the urgent needs of our UD students facing unforeseen hardships due to the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure their success at UD and beyond.Â
First registrant: $10
Additional participants: $5 each

What do I receive when I register?
All registered participants will receive a custom race bib, a special discount offer from Delaware State Parks, and an official race completion certificate. The top male and female 5k finishers in each age group, and under-17 1 mile run finishers, will earn prizes from Delaware State Parks and the Blue Hens, plus every participant will be entered to win random prize drawings
When will I receive my custom race bib and Delaware State Parks discount offer?
Race bibs and Delaware State Parks discount offer will be sent to emails provided during registration the week of the race (September14 - September 18).Â
How do I report my time?
Check back on race weekend to submit your results. You'll be asked to submit a screenshot/photo of a run tracking app such as Map My Run, Strava, Apple Watch, or other that includes date, time, and distance run.
REMEMBER: Only participants who report their times by 11:59pm on September 22nd are eligible for top age group finisher prize packs.Â
When will I receive my custom Certificate of Race Completion?
Participants will receive their certificate to the email provided during registration after times are received on September 22nd.Â
